Time to recognise the unrecognised

It’s already been a pivotal year in our journey towards ‘One Aviva’ and today I’m delighted to be able to tell you about another step towards ‘One Aviva’. It’s an exciting programme with recognition at its heart.

Aviva Street to School, our new, international charity partnership programme, aims to improve the lives of thousands of street children and young people around the world by helping them off the streets and into education and training.

Children living and working on the streets is a global issue. Aviva Street to School is about  ‘recognising the unrecognised’ – not only doing the right thing, but also standing by our brand promise and improving the lives of young people and helping them develop their full potential.

The Aviva Executive Committee and I have agreed to support Aviva Street to School for a minimum of five years. Over the next year or so you will see new charity relationships being developed within your business unit. And of course, there will be opportunities for all of us to make our contribution to the various projects over the coming months.

In addition, each region is currently in the process of selecting a business unit in which to pilot consumer-facing cause-related marketing activities. Following evaluation of these pilots, we will roll out more consumer-focused activities more widely across the group.

I’m very excited about this initiative. As Aviva Street to School develops we’ll be hearing more and more about it. I’d like to thank the CR and Marketing teams around the group who are working hard to bring Street to School to life. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to use the strength and scale of Aviva as a global group to make a difference where it really matters.
